Ahmet Tuğcu: Üstel's Claim of Repairing 5 Generators is Not True

Ahmet Tuğcu, the President of the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority Workers Union (El-Sen), has challenged Prime Minister Ünal Üstel's claim that five generators at Teknecik were repaired overnight and are now operational. Tuğcu stated that due to issues with dip fuel and a lack of spare parts, the machines cannot be fully operational, and only two of the generators have been brought back online.

In a social media post, Tuğcu said, "This morning, we woke up to yet another big lie. The Prime Minister claimed on camera that he had the five generators at Teknecik repaired. This is not true. Teknecik workers have been working tirelessly since last night to make something out of nothing. But due to the dip fuel issue and the ongoing lack of spare parts, the machines cannot be fully operational. Only two generators have been fully brought back online."

He called on the Prime Minister to focus on his real duties and take necessary steps for a permanent solution, rather than making false statements to the public. Tuğcu emphasized that the workers are doing their best to maintain operations despite the challenges posed by poor management and inadequate fuel.
