Peksever: Even If All Machines Are Operated, Remaining Fuel Will Last Only 1.5 Days

Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority Workers Union (El-Sen) General Secretary Hüseyin Peksever has responded to Prime Minister Ünal Üstel's claims of sabotage at the Teknecik Power Plant, stating that the root cause of the issues is poor management. He emphasized that the remaining fuel will only last for a maximum of one and a half days, even if all the machines are fully operational.

Peksever explained that since July 26, the plant has been running on the last of its fuel, leading to significant machinery breakdowns. He rejected the sabotage allegations and urged for an investigation to prove or disprove them immediately.

In an interview with Kıbrıs Postası following a tense exchange with the Prime Minister at Teknecik, Peksever stated, "The real reason behind the machinery failures is not sabotage but entirely due to poor management. Even if all the machines are repaired and operated, the remaining fuel will only last for about one and a half days."

Peksever also noted that the nearly depleted fuel on July 26 caused major issues with the equipment. He reiterated that the problems stem from mismanagement, not sabotage, and called for the alleged sabotage to be thoroughly investigated.
