Yarkıner criticized Prime Minister Ünal Üstel’s remarks regarding the issues at the plant, where he accused the workers of sabotage.

In a written statement, Yarkıner questioned the Prime Minister's claims, suggesting that labeling the breakdowns as sabotage and blaming the employees amounts to baseless accusations. He emphasized that a neutral investigation would be the most appropriate response to these serious allegations.

Yarkıner asked whether such sabotage would not be considered a hostile act typically planned by warring nations, questioning the rationale behind the accusation against the KIB-TEK employees. He suggested that it would have been better for the government to retract these accusations rather than insist on them.

Yarkıner also called for the General Directorate of Police to promptly collect oil and fuel samples from the power plants and compare them with the reports of the fuel supplied by KIB-TEK before starting to take statements. He indicated that if the analysis results were shared with the Chamber, they could technically explain the causes of the machinery breakdowns.

In a pointed question, Yarkıner asked the Prime Minister if the alleged sabotage has been ongoing since his term began. He also mentioned that the Chamber had requested a meeting with the Prime Minister to discuss the efficient operation of the KIB-TEK plants and noted that no engineer, apart from those on the management board, has suggested that the breakdowns were the result of sabotage by the workers.
