The Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority Workers' Union (El-Sen) had previously called on political parties and civil society organizations to witness the dire situation at Teknecik firsthand and support their protest.

The demonstration was attended by representatives from political parties, parliament members, and various civil society organizations.

During the protest, attention was drawn to the difference between standard fuel and the fuel allegedly used at Teknecik. Ahmet Tuğcu criticized the poor fuel quality, stating that it caused the plant's breakdowns and led to widespread power outages. He accused the authorities of backtracking on their plans after realizing their initial strategy had failed. Tuğcu emphasized the need for eco-friendly investments and called for an autonomous electricity authority to ensure a lasting solution.

Türk-Sen President Arslan Bıçaklı also condemned the government, blaming the current crisis on the failure to make necessary investments. He stressed the importance of respecting the public and warned that any further negligence would not be tolerated.

KTMMOB President Seran Aysal reaffirmed the commitment to protecting public assets and criticized the lack of action despite the numerous studies and recommendations provided by his organization.
