Erhürman: “This System Cannot Continue; We’re Not on the Right Track”
A- A A+

Speaking on Kanal Sim in an interview with Serhat İncirli, Erhürman discussed issues related to property sales and electricity problems.

“This Mindset Cannot Solve Problems”

Erhürman highlighted that CTP has been advocating for the regulation of property sales to foreigners for the past three years. He noted that property prices have significantly increased, making it nearly impossible for Turkish Cypriots to purchase homes. He criticized the recently proposed legislation for exacerbating existing issues rather than addressing them.

Legal Discrepancies on the Island

Erhürman pointed out that the legal framework in Northern Cyprus does not align with the South, creating significant problems. He emphasized that past solutions have not been effective and that the recent legislative proposals have only created more issues. Erhürman criticized the current approach, stating that the mindset of ignoring legal standards while expecting favorable behavior from others is flawed.

“Those Claiming to Govern the Country Are Clueless”

Addressing the issue of unprocured fuel, Erhürman criticized the government's lack of response to warnings about potential damage from poor-quality fuel and the environmental and operational impacts of current policies. He lamented that those in power are not addressing the problems effectively and are focused solely on internal party matters rather than the country’s pressing issues.
