In his written statement, President Tatar emphasized that the Greek Cypriot leadership is targeting the tourism sector as part of a broader strategy to economically strangle the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). "The Greek Cypriot leadership is now focusing its 'blockade policy' on our tourism sector, aiming to prevent tourists, including EU citizens who have already made reservations, from crossing into our country. This is being done through illegal means, including coercing tour operators," Tatar said.

President Tatar criticized the actions of the Greek Cypriot leadership, stating that it reveals their true intentions regarding the future of Cyprus. He noted that for 61 years, the Greek Cypriot side has continued its oppressive policies, violating the fundamental human rights of the Turkish Cypriot people. Tatar accused the Greek Cypriots of further escalating these policies since January, blatantly disregarding international law.

Tatar highlighted that, in response to these developments, consultations with industry representatives and tourism organizations were held, and international bodies, including the European Union, were called upon to intervene against the Greek Cypriot side's hostile actions.

He concluded his statement by calling on the Greek Cypriot leadership to abandon these regressive policies and to work towards establishing a cooperative environment between the two sides on the island. "As the President of a people whose rights and interests I am bound to protect, I will closely monitor this issue with the relevant international parties, including the EU," Tatar asserted.
