Tragic Accident in Güzelyurt: One Soldier Killed
A soldier injured in a severe accident on the Güzelyurt-Akçay main road has succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the soldier has not yet been released by the police. The accident involved a military vehicle, with a total of 12 people on board, all of whom were injured.
According to a statement from the Police Press Office, the accident occurred around 09:00 this morning on the Güzelyurt-Akçay main road. Among the injured, one soldier has unfortunately passed away.
The police are yet to disclose the soldier's identity.
The tragic accident on the Güzelyurt-Akçay main road, which resulted in the death of a soldier, occurred between the 3rd and 4th kilometers of the road. A military jeep was traveling towards Güzelyurt when it attempted to overtake a KF 224 plated sedan driven by 58-year-old Havva Dağman Yırık, who was also heading in the same direction.
As the military jeep passed the sedan on the right side, it clipped the sedan's right side mirror and right side body. Following this collision, the driver of the jeep lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road, roll over, and eventually come to a stop on its left side.
