According to a statement from the Parliament, the event was held at the Bellapais Monastery in Kyrenia, organized by the Scientific Committee of the Cyprus Research Center at Girne American University.

In his speech, Töre highlighted the importance of understanding the history and future of the Turkish Cypriot people, noting that works like this are crucial for preserving history. He referenced the saying, "If you forget your past, history will repeat itself," emphasizing the need to remember past events.

Töre also noted that while there is no animosity towards anyone, it is important to remain aware that their neighbors are not angels. Recalling the Annan Plan process, he pointed out that those who said "no" to the plan were rewarded, while those who said "yes" were punished.

He underscored the need for such works in lobbying efforts to communicate the Turkish Cypriot perspective to the world and called for investment in this area.

Töre stressed that the Turkish Cypriots deserve to experience better things and stated, "We are not an inferior society compared to other people in the world." He also criticized the lack of effective action by the United Nations regarding the ongoing atrocities in Gaza, noting that despite over ten months passing, no meaningful resolution has been made.

While acknowledging that there may be problems in the country and that politicians can be criticized, Töre firmly stated that giving up on the state is not an option.
