Police officer Mert Gültuna, who is part of the Narcotics Department, provided details during the court hearing. He explained that on August 12, 2024, the Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling Directorate received information about Okeke's involvement in illegal drug possession and sales, using vehicles with registration numbers GH 642 and VY 068. Surveillance confirmed Okeke's frequent visits to various apartments in Kyrenia with the VY 068 vehicle, but no concrete evidence was found initially, prompting continued monitoring.

On August 19, 2024, Okeke was observed arriving on Şht. İsmet Dülgeroğlu Street in the VY 068 vehicle. He parked and walked towards a closed garage where he opened the GH 642 vehicle and retrieved a black backpack with a gold Puma logo. Upon noticing the police, Okeke attempted to flee, discarding the bag and car keys. However, he was apprehended using reasonable force.

A search of the discarded backpack revealed 250 grams of cannabis wrapped in 100 aluminum foils, 35 MDMA pills hidden in supplement containers, and cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales. Further searches of the GH 642 vehicle uncovered an additional 350 grams of cannabis, 8 MDMA pills, and drug packaging materials, including aluminum foil and plastic bags. No illegal items were found in the VY 068 vehicle or Okeke's residence in Nicosia (Lefkoşa).

The police stated that the seized items have been sent for analysis, and further investigation is needed, including taking statements and reviewing security camera footage. Based on the testimony, Senior Judge Hazal Hacımulla ordered that Okeke remain in custody for another six days to allow the investigation to continue.
