Savaşan Slams Taçoy: "Attempting to Divide UBP is an Overreach!"

Savaşan, speaking on a program on Kıbrıs TV, condemned Taçoy's comments as an overreach and an attempt to divide the party.

CONDEMNING TAÇOY... AN OVERREACHING STATEMENT

Savaşan expressed his disapproval of Taçoy's remarks, stating, "As members of the National Unity Party, we are here because of our love for the state and the nation, a sentiment that was also held by our ancestors and predecessors. The very essence of UBP is rooted in patriotism and state loyalty. While it is understandable to enter a leadership race, have ambitions, or propose projects, claiming that the motivation behind UBP's foundation—patriotism—has disappeared is a grave insult to all UBP members and is utterly unacceptable."

"PATRIOTISM AND STATE LOYALTY ARE IN THE DNA OF UBP... THESE CANNOT BE EXPLOITED IN ELECTIONS"

Savaşan further argued that Taçoy's statements go beyond internal party competition, saying, "Questioning the love for the nation and state among UBP members is a serious misstep. No one has the right to exploit such values for a leadership election. Every individual in the National Unity Party will respond appropriately to these accusations."

He emphasized that Taçoy's comments were out of line, concluding, "For UBP, patriotism and love for the nation are among the most sensitive issues. The questioning of these values for personal gain is unacceptable."
