Leader of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Tufan Erhürman, has described Turkey's invitation to the informal meeting of EU Foreign Ministers after a five-year hiatus as an "important step towards dialogue."

In a social media post, Erhürman commented on Turkey's participation in the meeting, noting that this invitation signifies a positive development in Turkey-EU relations. He stated:

"After a five-year break, Turkey was invited to the informal meeting of EU Foreign Ministers. Turkey has welcomed this initiative, and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan attended the meeting.

The invitation and statements from the EU clearly show that the EU values dialogue with Turkey, and Turkey shares a similar approach.

The EU has emphasized that the Cyprus issue remains a significant topic in its relations with Turkey, while Turkey has expressed that such a linkage is not appropriate.

Nonetheless, after five years, a significant door for dialogue has finally opened, and both parties are pleased with the resumption of discussions.
