Speaking at the 50th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Yılmaz highlighted the ongoing plight of the Turkish Cypriots.

Yılmaz also called for accountability for the Israeli government, particularly for its actions under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, citing ongoing massacres and human rights violations in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories.

Addressing the gathered diplomats, Yılmaz drew attention to the intensified provocations at Al-Aqsa Mosque, reminding the audience that the OIC was established to protect sacred sites from such attacks. He urged the organization to remain true to its founding principles.

Referring to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's speech in the Turkish Grand National Assembly on August 15, Yılmaz noted, "President Abbas's statement that our lives are not more valuable than the children in Gaza should serve as a wake-up call for all of us."
