Taçoy to Üstel: "My Offer Still Stands, and I Am Waiting"
A- A A+

In a written statement, Taçoy said:

"With just a few days left until our congress, the excitement felt not only among our members but throughout the country is a testament to the National Unity Party being the largest party and the only hope of this country.

This situation imposes significant responsibilities on all of us. Therefore, it is not enough to simply present ourselves; we must also highlight the differences between us.

When I proposed a joint television program to Mr. Ünal, I never anticipated that it would cause such tension and unease. This was not, and still is not, my intention.

My aim is to contribute to the country's democracy and to reach our citizens through TV screens, the most powerful medium for political communication.

My invitation was made with this purpose in mind. It is entirely incorrect to interpret it otherwise.

When two long-standing members of the same party vie for a position within their party, it is essential to highlight their differences so that everyone can see them.

I never thought that my offer would create a crisis of confidence. However, it appears that it has.

My offer remains open, and I am waiting for a response..."
