Speeding and Drunk Driving 'Again' Top the List of Traffic Offenses
During nationwide traffic inspections conducted yesterday, a total of 2,148 drivers were checked, resulting in legal action against 366 of them. Once again, speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol were the most common offenses.
In addition to the legal actions, 53 vehicles were removed from the roads, and one driver was arrested.
Breakdown of Traffic Offenses:
- 158 for exceeding the legal speed limit
- 24 for driving under the influence of alcohol
- 23 for failing to obey traffic lights
- 9 for driving without insurance
- 15 for using a mobile phone while driving
- 28 for driving without wearing a seatbelt
- 24 for driving without a valid registration
- 4 for riding a motorcycle without a protective helmet
- 116 for various other traffic violations.
