Töre shared details of his meeting with Şahin on CNN Türk, where Şahin conveyed that RTÜK will block access to the series and prevent its broadcast in Turkey.

Töre criticized the series for being biased towards Greek and Greek Cypriot perspectives and distorting historical facts. He suggested that if Netflix is to produce such a series, it should examine the actions of EOKA, which was established in 1955.

He also pointed out that the issue may involve the Greek-Cypriot lobby, Zionism, and possibly FETÖ. Töre emphasized that the series overlooks the attacks suffered by the Turkish Cypriots before 1974, making Netflix’s approach unacceptable. He condemned Netflix’s portrayal of Maraş (Varosha) and criticized it for serving Greek-Cypriot interests with misleading content.

Töre also referred to the situation in Gaza, urging Netflix to focus on the realities there. He claimed that only two buildings were damaged due to fire from Turkish fighters and that many buildings still stand after 50 years.

He concluded by noting that some countries have deliberately misrepresented the 1974 Peace Operation, reflecting a hostile attitude towards Turkey due to their stance on the Palestinian cause.
