During an appearance on Kıbrıs Postası TV’s ‘Sabah Postası’ program, hosted by Gökhan Altıner, Üstel emphasized that his government is working to protect contractors from these pressures. He also noted that they will discuss these matters during the visit of Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.

"Short-Term Governments of the Past Made Problems Grow into Mountains"

Reflecting on his long political career since 1991, Üstel mentioned that he has held various ministerial roles before becoming Prime Minister. He highlighted that short-term governments in the past led to the worsening of issues, which have now become “mountains” to deal with.

"We Started Working on How to Revive the Economy"

Recalling the challenges posed by the pandemic, ongoing global conflicts, and currency fluctuations, Üstel said, "We initiated efforts to revive the economy in consultation with Turkey."

Recent and Upcoming Initiatives

The Prime Minister reminded that his government has implemented the largest salary increases in history to protect workers from inflation. "We are providing a 58% premium to freelancers. We are also offering unprecedented support to farmers and livestock producers," he noted.

Üstel also emphasized ongoing efforts to advance the country’s economy, stating, “We completed Ercan Airport in just one year. We’ve already reached the passenger numbers we expected to hit by 2027. Now, we need to gain international recognition for our airport.”

"We Will Do Our Best to Help Our Youth Own Homes"

Üstel announced the launch of social housing projects in every district for the first time in 30 years, focusing on providing homes for young people. He stated, “We have identified locations for the social housing projects. We will offer favorable payment options to ensure that our young people, who have no homes, can become homeowners, stay in this country, and continue to serve it.” He added, “We will do everything we can to help them.”
