Erdoğan: Egypt Shares Similar Goals in Eastern Mediterranean

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey and Egypt have aligned goals regarding the Eastern Mediterranean during a joint press conference with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Erdoğan highlighted the importance of strengthening consultations between the two countries on various issues.

Erdoğan also condemned some countries' unconditional support for Israel, criticizing it for contributing to ongoing violence and injustice in the region. He called for an end to double standards and urged a return to a fair and just approach in dealing with regional issues.

The Turkish President noted that discussions with Egypt covered a range of topics, including Gaza, the Eastern Mediterranean, Syria, Libya, Sudan, and the Horn of Africa. He expressed a commitment to deeper cooperation and advancing bilateral relations on a win-win basis.

Erdoğan also highlighted Turkey's significant contributions to humanitarian aid for Gaza and criticized Israel's actions for obstructing aid and worsening the humanitarian crisis. He reaffirmed Turkey's support for international legal actions against Israeli officials involved in alleged war crimes.

Following the press conference, Erdoğan hosted a dinner for President el-Sisi and the accompanying delegations at the Presidential Complex.
