During a two-day working visit from Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Üstel said they reviewed the ongoing agreement, signed two new protocols, and discussed the latest stages of ongoing projects.

Üstel highlighted that the agreement, which includes over 16 billion TL in resources, marks a significant step forward for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). He also mentioned the signing of a protocol allowing the families of martyrs and veterans in the TRNC to benefit from the same social rights as those in Turkey. Additionally, a protocol was signed to allow civilian access to the newly opened military hospital in Kyrenia.

“Cable Electricity Project Will Definitely Be Realized”

Üstel emphasized their determination to complete all pending projects, including the ongoing project to bring electricity via cable from Turkey. He assured that key road projects, such as the Northern Nicosia Bypass, Alsancak-Lapta Road, Kyrenia-Çatalköy Road, and Karpaz-Zafer Burnu Road, will be completed. Furthermore, the construction of schools continues, with 18 new schools completed out of the 40 targeted by 2027.

He also pointed out that they are working on projects related to digitalization, fiber optics, faster internet, tech parks, and transforming the TRNC into an island of technology. Tourism and construction sectors are also part of their focus, aiming for sustainable growth.

"2025 Will Be Even Better"

Üstel expressed optimism for the future, stating that 2025 will be even better than 2024, thanks to Turkey's strengthening economic stability. He reiterated the importance of political stability and strong cooperation with Turkey for the successful implementation of these projects.
