A year has passed since the investigation began, yet no one has been brought to court.

Dr. Özant, in a statement marking the first anniversary of the investigation launched in September 2023, recalled that it had dominated headlines at the time with terms like “The biggest scam in history,” “They robbed the state,” and “The drug scandal complaint.” However, despite the intense media attention, no pharmacists, doctors, bureaucrats, or politicians have been prosecuted.

He criticized the Ministry of Labor and Social Security for mishandling the investigation, citing the arrest of two department heads for corruption and the resignation of the undersecretary. The lack of timely investigations into pharmacists and doctors, along with the decision to transfer the case to the police, has caused concern. Dr. Özant also condemned the public humiliation of medical professionals through media coverage, which violated the presumption of innocence.

Furthermore, Dr. Özant noted that blockades on bank accounts, travel bans, and reputational damage remain unresolved, and no steps have been taken to address these issues. He highlighted the need for better systems like e-prescriptions and a drug monitoring system to ensure smoother access to medications, especially for insured individuals and workers who have suffered for a year without proper access to medication.

He concluded by urging the rapid conclusion of the investigations, emphasizing the importance of ensuring justice for all parties involved. Dr. Özant reaffirmed KTTB's commitment to supporting affected professionals and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.
