Eva Isabella Kounzel, a German national, was arrested in South Cyprus in July, accused of facilitating the sale of properties in Esentepe to buyers in Germany.

According to Haravgi and other newspapers, during the session held at the Nicosia District Court, the defense attorney for the German real estate agent requested a one-week postponement to review the indictment and witness statements provided by the prosecution.

The court granted the request, rescheduling the trial for October 2, at which point Kounzel, through her lawyer Sotiris Argirou, is expected to respond to the charges.

The defense also hinted at raising objections regarding the court’s jurisdiction and impartiality during the next hearing.

Meanwhile, Fileleftheros reported that the initial indictment included 56 charges, 22 of which relate to Greek Cypriots who are the legal owners of the land where the illegal constructions took place. A seven-year prison sentence is reportedly being sought.

The German real estate agent is alleged to have earned €169,150 from five sales at the "Olive Tree" development.
