Smuggled Meat, Fish, and Other Products Seized at Metehan
Authorities seized smuggled meat, fish, and various prohibited items at the Metehan Border Crossing.
During an inspection on September 22, customs and police officers discovered a total of 20 kg of beef, 20 kg of fish, 24 packages of mustard oil, 24 packages of breakfast cereal, 48 packets of turmeric powder, and 24 chili peppers in a vehicle used by S.M.K. (E-43) crossing from Southern Cyprus to the TRNC.
The operation, which took place around 10:30 AM, led to the arrest of S.M.K. for attempting to bring these undeclared and banned items into the country. The seized goods were taken as evidence.
