Speeding and Alcohol Top Traffic Offenses Once Again

Traffic inspections conducted nationwide revealed that speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol remain the leading traffic offenses.

Speeding and Alcohol Top Traffic Offenses Once Again

Yesterday, during inspections carried out by traffic teams across the country, a total of 2,485 drivers were checked. Of these, 374 were reported for various traffic violations, and legal action was initiated against them.

In addition, 30 vehicles were impounded, and one driver was arrested.

The reported traffic offenses included:

  • 106 for exceeding the legal speed limit,
  • 9 for driving under the influence of alcohol,
  • 2 for driving without a license or insurance,
  • 50 for using a mobile phone while driving,
  • 14 for driving without wearing a seatbelt,
  • 19 for driving without a vehicle registration,
  • 2 for driving without insurance,
  • 8 for driving without a vehicle inspection,
  • 5 for riding a motorcycle without a helmet, and
  • 159 for other traffic offenses.

This report underscores the continued challenges of enforcing traffic safety regulations, particularly in relation to speeding and alcohol consumption.
