Ali Hasan was charged with “forging official documents and circulating them,” “obtaining records through fraudulent means,” and “impersonation.” He was presented again at the Nicosia District Court.

Police officer Zafer İnce from Demirhan Police Station provided details in court. The police reported that on September 11, 2022, Hasan presented a counterfeit Pakistani passport issued in the name of Waseem Abbas Shah to the immigration officer at Ercan Airport, using it to impersonate the individual and obtain official records.

The officer stated that in his voluntary statement regarding the matter, Hasan admitted to his crime. He was identified and arrested in the act following a traffic accident in the jurisdiction of Dörtyol Police Station on September 22, 2024.

The police indicated that the investigation is ongoing, and the passport has been sent to a document examination expert, with a report pending. They requested that Hasan remain in custody for five additional days.

After evaluating the testimony presented, Judge Nuray Necdet ordered that Hasan be detained for five more days.
