Arıklı: Inflation is the Government's Most Pressing Issue
Minister of Public Works and Transport and leader of the Rebirth Party (YDP), Erhan Arıklı, highlighted inflation as the government's most critical challenge during a visit to the village of Varosha, where he engaged in discussions with the Greenhouse Growers' Union and locals.
Arıklı emphasized that as a coalition partner, YDP has a responsibility to voice its stance on such issues.
Arıklı's remarks came after he faced criticism for speaking on matters outside his ministerial portfolio during a meeting in Famagusta. Responding to these criticisms, Arıklı stated, “Inflation is the country’s most pressing issue, and as the leader of a coalition party, it is my duty to share my party’s perspective on these matters.”
He further defended his stance in a social media post, affirming that YDP’s role in the coalition obliges him to speak on a range of national concerns, including inflation.
