Gündüz, the university's secretary-general and shareholder, along with his assistant Özbek, appeared again before the Nicosia Assize Court today.

Presided over by Judge Füsun Cemaller, Senior Judge Vedia B. Barkın, and Judge Tutku Candaş, the hearing was delayed to allow for further proceedings.

Defense Lawyer’s Statements

Doğa Zeki, lawyer for Serdal Gündüz, expressed frustration during the hearing, stating, “We want all the cases to be brought before us so we can proceed.” He argued that despite Prosecutor Mustafa İldeniz's efforts, the case has seen no progress outside of the files under his control.

Prosecution's Response

Senior Prosecutor Mustafa İldeniz acknowledged the existence of multiple case files over an extended period. He noted that four files related to the fake diploma issue have already been submitted and assured that all files would be transferred to the district prosecutors within 15 days.

Charges Against the Defendants

Gündüz and Özbek face charges including "obtaining money through fraud," "fraud," "forgery and circulation of false documents," "manipulation and fraud in accounts," "money laundering," "provoking payment orders," and "embezzlement by an employee." In their initial trial at the Omorfo District Court, they were accused of 98 different charges.
