Gardiyanoğlu: Employers Did Not Propose a Figure, Showed Negative Attitude Towards Increase
Minister of Labor and Social Security, Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, stated that the employers did not propose any figures or percentages regarding the minimum wage and expressed a negative stance towards any increase.
Following a meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, Gardiyanoğlu addressed the press, emphasizing his desire for consensus, although he acknowledged that reaching unanimous agreement was not possible.
Gardiyanoğlu noted that the decision made in the previous meeting, which was reached by majority vote, would remain in effect. He highlighted that the employers had not put forth any specific figures or percentages, indicating their reluctance to accept an increase.
Serdaroğlu: We Found Employers' Objections Unfounded
Ahmet Serdaroğlu, representing the workers at the meeting, expressed that they found the employers' objections to be unrealistic. He acknowledged that there was a cyclical issue at hand and stated their readiness to address the root of the problem, asserting that resolving the issue was impossible without doing so.
Serdaroğlu reiterated points made before the meeting, stating that the core of the problem lay in government actions and tax amnesties.
