Osman to Remain in Custody for 8 Days After Drug Arrest

Muhammed Aitf Osman was brought before the court following his arrest for drug offenses in Nicosia. Osman confessed to purchasing the drugs for 500 Euros from an unknown individual. The court ordered his detention for eight days.

The incident occurred in Hamitköy, where officers from the Nicosia Police Department's Crimes Prevention Unit conducted a search of Osman’s residence on September 26, 2024, around 6:00 PM. During the search, they discovered approximately 23 grams of what is believed to be cannabis, a hand-rolled cigarette mixed with cannabis, a digital scale with drug residue, and cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales, including 910 USD, 150 Euros, 70 GBP, and 16,700 TL.

Police stated that Osman was arrested and an investigation was initiated. In his statement, Osman admitted to acquiring the drugs from a black individual for 500 Euros. The police informed the court that the investigation is ongoing and further statements are expected.

Judge Nuray Necdet evaluated the testimony and ordered Osman to be held in custody for eight days.
