Serdal Gündüz and Amir Shakerifard Case Referred to High Court
The case involving Serdal Gündüz, General Secretary and shareholder of Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (KSTU), and Amir Shakerifard, Head of the International Office, has been transferred to the Nicosia High Criminal Court. The decision was made during today's preliminary hearing, part of the ongoing investigation into KSTU.
During the hearing, Omorfo District Court Judge Gülay Süleymanoğlu Uğur ordered the case to be referred to the High Criminal Court, with the next session set for October 14. The hearing included testimonies from 11 witnesses, and the prosecution presented a total of 32 exhibits.
Representing the prosecution was Attorney Damla Güçlü, while lawyers Doğa Zeki represented Gündüz and Talat Tanca and Asiye Yetkiner appeared on behalf of Shakerifard.
130 Charges Brought Against Defendants
The defendants face a total of 130 charges, including “Obtaining Money by Fraud,” “Forgery,” “Circulating Forged Documents,” “Accounting Fraud,” “Money Laundering,” and “Employee Theft.”
Ongoing Trial at the High Court
In addition to this case, Serdal Gündüz is also facing another trial at the Nicosia High Criminal Court concerning separate charges involving his assistant, Berk Özbek. The trial process for that case is still underway.
