ANSTO Maritime Halts Anamur-Kyrenia Ferry Services Until Spring
ANSTO Maritime has announced a temporary suspension of ferry services between Anamur and Kyrenia until spring. The decision was made due to the international open-sea status of the route and the ferry vessels falling outside the category of ships permitted to operate during the winter months.
In a statement, the company confirmed that RoRo-ROPAX services will continue throughout the year. "Along with passenger transportation, we will also begin transporting vehicles, including trucks and trailers, by the end of the year," the statement said.
The full statement read: "We have temporarily suspended ferry services between Anamur and Kyrenia due to the international open-sea route and restrictions on ferry operations in the winter. However, RoRo-ROPAX services will continue year-round. This means we will commence both passenger and freight transportation, including cars, vans, trucks, and trailers, by the end of the year."
