Police officer Samet Sıdal presented the facts in court. He stated that during an operation on October 1, 2024, 14 grams of cannabis were seized from an individual identified as C.H.R.N. The arrested individual claimed to have purchased the drugs from Rutabingwa for $220. Sıdal noted that Rutabingwa had been declared a wanted person and was apprehended in Gemikonağı just days prior under a warrant.

The police indicated that the investigation is still in its early stages, with more statements to be taken and evidence to be collected, including an examination of the suspect's mobile phone. They requested a three-day detention period for Rutabingwa.

After the police statement, Rutabingwa asserted his innocence, stating, "The police should show me a picture because I don't even know what drugs are; I have never seen drugs in my life."

Senior Judge Gökhan Asafoğulları evaluated the testimony and ordered Rutabingwa to remain in custody for three days.
