Çeler: UBP's Claim of Stability Contradicted by Current Instability
Zeki Çeler, the leader of the Progressive Party of Working People (TDP), criticized the National Unity Party (UBP), stating, "While UBP claims stability, it has reached a peak of instability."
Speaking on Kıbrıs Postası TV's special broadcast from the Parliament, Çeler remarked that the current political landscape was anticipated, noting that while Ünal Üstel's strong performance at the UBP Congress created an impression, he has failed to prove his authority among the party's members.
Çeler emphasized that recent events demonstrate Üstel's lack of influence within the parliamentary group, stating, "There are those who either do not want early elections or call for them to gain more strength." He suggested that lawmakers opposed to early elections would cast "Yes" votes, allowing for the election of a Speaker. "During this period, we are not seeing much pride," Çeler added.
