According to reports in Fileleftheros and other newspapers, Christodoulides stated that while the Greek Cypriot side is prepared to present its views on any topic brought forward, they are unwilling to compromise on certain key issues.

Christodoulides expressed hope that his upcoming meeting with TRNC President Ersin Tatar and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York on October 15 will lead to positive outcomes, stating that this is the sole objective of the Greek Cypriot side. He also mentioned that they have their own proposals ready to present.

Speaking to reporters at the "Digital Agenda Cyprus Summit" held in the Greek Cypriot side of Nicosia, Christodoulides addressed the question of whether the Greek Cypriot side would reconsider its stance on President Tatar’s "3D" demands—direct flights, direct trade, and direct contact. He firmly stated, "No, there has been no consultation on this matter, and we are not open to discussing it."

Christodoulides also mentioned that ahead of the New York meeting, Cyprus’ negotiator Menelaos Menalau would consult with him and convene a political group meeting on Friday to continue discussions within the framework of the National Council.

Before the meeting with Guterres, Christodoulides plans to meet with the UK Prime Minister in London, noting the importance of the meeting not only for bilateral relations but also for the Cyprus issue. He reiterated that the Greek Cypriot side is heading to New York with one goal: a positive outcome.

When asked about confidence-building measures and whether the Greek Cypriot side is prepared to take further steps, Christodoulides said he did not want to speculate or make statements that might be inappropriate for the UN Secretary-General.

Regarding the potential reactivation of the UN Secretary-General's personal representative in Cyprus, Christodoulides noted that it was a specific question and, out of respect for the UN Secretary-General and his hopes for a positive outcome, he preferred not to comment further.
