Former Deputy Prime Minister and veteran politician Serdar Denktaş criticized the events surrounding the parliamentary speaker elections, stating, "The winner is not Zorlu Töre, but the 'No' vote."

In his social media post, Denktaş began by saying, "I tried to stay out of this, but it’s impossible." He pointed out that despite Töre being the sole candidate, the parliamentary by-laws still required an election. He explained that in the first four rounds, 26 votes were needed to win, but in the final, fifth round, the candidate with the most votes would win.

Denktaş emphasized that in the final round, the majority of the votes were against Töre, with 25 'No' votes and only 23 'Yes' votes, underscoring that the 'No' votes had won. Referring to Töre’s attempt to declare himself Speaker, Denktaş said, "The winner is 'No.'"

He further remarked that any differing opinion would be politicized and expressed his hope that the legal system would not be tarnished by such political manipulation.
