Zorlu Töre: "In My Opinion, This Election Has Been Won... I Am Currently in Office"
Republic Assembly President Zorlu Töre made statements regarding the presidential election results during the General Assembly session.
Recalling that there were 23 votes in favor and 25 against during the fifth round of voting, Töre asserted that he won the election as the sole candidate, according to the Assembly's internal regulations. He mentioned having previously consulted several legal experts, who indicated that, due to his status as the only candidate, only the votes in favor should be considered.
"I have also requested a written opinion from the Attorney General today. This is a rule of law country. Everyone must accept the result from the Legal Department," he said.
Emphasizing, "In my opinion, this election has been won," Töre reminded that he is currently in office.
