Police officer Sıla Topbaş presented the facts of the case in court. According to the police, on October 2, 2024, Memedova made a purchase at a jewelry store in Nicosia, paying with $2,000 in counterfeit money. A complaint was filed the following day, leading to Memedova's arrest on October 3 and the initiation of an investigation. During questioning, Memedova claimed to have received the $2,000 from Jamal Jokayev, who had been released on bail two days earlier.

Furthermore, the police received complaints that Memedova, while working as a cashier at a currency exchange office in Hamitköy, defrauded six individuals by collecting 60,000 TL, 750 Euros, and 1,900 US dollars. She allegedly promised to return the money, claiming the office lacked funds at the time. Based on these complaints, a separate investigation for fraud has also been initiated.

After considering the testimony, Judge Nuray Necdet ruled that Memedova must remain in the country until her trial, post a 50,000 TL cash bail, provide two reliable local guarantors to sign bonds worth 300,000 TL each, and report to the nearest police station once a week. She will stand trial without being held in custody.
