South Police Rescue Five Stranded at Sea
The police on Thursday night swung into action to rescue five people who became stranded at sea when a mechanical fault occurred on their boat.
The boat’s captain requested assistance from the maritime police at around 7.30pm after having travelled from where their main boat was anchored to Nissi beach aboard an auxiliary boat.
On the way back from Nissi beach, the auxiliary boat suffered a mechanical failure, leaving the captain and the four others aboard stranded at sea.
The police set sail at around 8.15pm and successfully transferred all five people to their anchored boat.
