The trial of Ali Kişmir, President of the Press Workers’ Union (Basın-Sen), who faces a 10-year prison sentence over a social media post, has been postponed to November 14. Kişmir, a journalist, appeared in court today following the judicial recess for his case stemming from a column he wrote.
Kişmir was represented by Hasan Esendağlı, President of the Cyprus Turkish Bar Association, in the proceedings held at the Nicosia District Court.
