Berova Appointed as Government Spokesperson

At yesterday's Council of Ministers meeting, 67 proposals were approved and sent to the Secretariat for publication in the Official Gazette. Berova highlighted that measures are also being taken to strengthen price monitoring.

In a written statement, Berova expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Ünal Üstel and other Cabinet members, noting that the meeting, chaired initially by President Ersin Tatar, discussed the latest national and international political developments and the 2025 economic outlook. The second part, led by Üstel, focused on the approval of the proposals.

Approved Proposals

Berova detailed some key decisions:

• Construction Health and Safety: Regulations aligning with EU standards to enhance occupational safety in construction were approved.
• Price Monitoring: A decree was passed for the establishment of an automated system for monitoring and enforcing price regulations through electronic labeling.
• Public Financial Management: Amendments to address issues in the application of the Public Financial Management and Control Law (41/2019) were approved for parliamentary submission.
• Inheritance Tax: Amendments were approved to exempt the estates of individuals deceased in the February 6 earthquake, recognized as martyrs or duty martyrs, from inheritance tax.
