The detained healthcare workers, identified as Ç.Ş., A.D., G.K.A., K.Y., and M.A., are accused of "causing death by negligence and carelessness." They were brought to court under tight security. One of the lawyers claimed that the infant died due to incorrect and delayed medical intervention.

During the court proceedings, there was a brief altercation between the detainees' colleagues and the infant's family in the courthouse courtyard.

Police witness Hüseyin Zaifer informed Judge Nuray Necdet that the 20-day-old infant, receiving care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, passed away on October 26 at 1:30 p.m. The investigation revealed that baby formulas were mistakenly mixed with ethanol due to negligence, and other infants' treatment is ongoing.

Police noted that M.A. had placed the ethanol in a water heater, while A.D. administered the formula. Thirteen statements have been taken so far, with further statements and CCTV footage still under review. The police requested a seven-day extension of detention.

One lawyer alleged that the ventilator had not been calibrated, questioning the police regarding equipment checks. Police confirmed that hospital pharmacy items are distributed to wards on request and noted no malfunction that posed a risk to life.

The judge ordered an additional seven days of detention for the detainees.
