The event, held at the İskele Grand Sapphire Hotel and organized by the Turkish Cypriot National Olympic Committee, celebrated outstanding athletes, coaches, businesspeople, and administrators who contributed to sports.

A total of 10 athletes who competed in Balkan, European, and World championships with Turkish national teams in various Olympic disciplines, and one athlete in Paralympic sports, were awarded. Additionally, 20 athletes from seven non-Olympic branches received recognition. Savaşkan, awarded 'Athlete of the Year,' was also presented with a car by the Committee.

The ceremony featured speeches from President Ersin Tatar, Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı, MOK President Dursun Koç, Vice President of the Turkish National Olympic Committee Nihat Usta, and silver medalist Yusuf Dikeç, who competed in the mixed air pistol category at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The event began with a minute of silence in honor of those who contributed to the struggle for existence. Following the national anthem, a video titled “One Day, For Sure,” expressing the hope that Turkish Cypriot athletes will one day compete under their own flag, was screened.
