The decision was issued by the Nicosia High Criminal Court, presided over by Chief Justice Füsun Cemaller, alongside Senior Judge Vedia Berkut Barkın and Judge Tutku Candaş.

Chief Justice Cemaller emphasized the severe societal threat posed by drug-related crimes and the need for deterrent sentences. The court noted that the defendants, who were found guilty on all four charges, engaged in drug trafficking due to financial difficulties and had jointly procured and sold the substances.

While acknowledging the defendants’ young ages and their cooperation in court, the judge underscored the serious and widespread nature of the offense, sentencing both to 4 years and 6 months in prison.
