Erdoğan Thanks Kyrgyzstan for Supporting TRNC’s Observer Status

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his gratitude to Kyrgyzstan for supporting the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in gaining observer status in the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

Erdoğan, who traveled to Kyrgyzstan for the 11th Summit of the OTS Council of Heads of State, was received with an official ceremony and took the opportunity to discuss the TRNC's new status within the organization.

Following the ceremony, Erdoğan attended the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting, where he emphasized goals to expand trade volume with Kyrgyzstan to $5 billion and strengthen security ties. He also called for increased international pressure on Israel, citing its actions as a threat to the global system.

"Heartfelt Thanks for Supporting TRNC’s OTS Membership"

In his address, Erdoğan stated, "I extend my heartfelt thanks for your support in TRNC’s observer membership in the OTS." He acknowledged the contributions of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), which has carried out over a thousand projects, including the Turkish-Kyrgyz Friendship State Hospital named in his honor.

Highlighting concerns over Israel's recent attacks on Lebanon, Erdoğan emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire and reiterated Turkey’s commitment to advancing efforts for a solution to the Palestinian issue. He thanked Kyrgyzstan for its support in Turkey's multilateral efforts, including within the United Nations, to increase international pressure on Israel.
