Season-Ending Injury for Galatasaray's Mauro Icardi
Galatasaray's star forward Mauro Icardi has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus damage in his right knee. Icardi is set to undergo surgery following his injury during the UEFA Europa League match against Tottenham.
In an official statement, Galatasaray confirmed: "Following an MRI scan at our sponsor hospital, Medicana, it was determined that Mauro Icardi sustained an ACL tear and meniscus damage in his right knee during the UEFA Europa League Week 4 match against Tottenham. Rehabilitation before his surgery has commenced."
The 31-year-old Argentine forward played 14 matches this season, contributing 6 goals and 2 assists before this unfortunate setback.
