2025 Budget Discussions Begin Today in Committee
The draft law for the 2025 Central Government Budget will be reviewed starting today in the Economy, Finance, Budget, and Planning Committee. The session will commence with an opening address by Committee Chair Resmiye Eroğlu Canaltay, followed by a presentation from Finance Minister Özdemir Berova.
According to a statement from the Parliament, the committee discussions will start immediately after the General Assembly session. After the opening and presentation, the committee will deliberate on the overall budget before moving on to a clause-by-clause examination.
On November 12, the budgets for the Presidency, the Republican Assembly, the Prime Ministry, and its affiliated bodies will be discussed.
Discussions will continue on November 13, focusing on the budgets for the Deputy Prime Ministry, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, the Public Service Commission, and the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation along with its affiliates.
On November 14, the budgets for the Civil Defence Organization, the Security Forces Command, the Judiciary, the Ombudsman, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Police General Directorate will be addressed.
The review on November 19 will cover the Audit Office, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of National Education along with related institutions. On November 20, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and Energy, and the Ministry of Health budgets will be discussed.
On November 21, deliberations will focus on the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
The final session on November 22 will review the Finance Ministry's budget, discuss revenue budgets, and conclude with a vote on the entire bill.
The committee's budget meetings are scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
