GDP Sees 7.3% Growth: Per Capita Gross National Income at $14,599

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) recorded a real growth of 7.3% in 2023, with the highest sectoral growth observed in "import taxes," which increased by 31.5%. The Statistical Institute reported that the Gross National Income per capita stood at 14,599 USD, while the GDP total reached 132,350,516,376.8 TL at current prices.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) recorded a real growth of 7.3%. In 2023, the sector with the highest growth was "import taxes," showing a 31.5% increase. The Statistical Institute released the 2023 GDP figures, reporting a total of 132,350,516,376.8 TL at current prices.

The per capita Gross National Income stood at 14,599 USD.

Considering the real growth rates of various sectors at constant prices, the highest growth in 2023 was in the "import taxes" sector at 31.5%, followed by the "trade-tourism" sector at 16.3%, and the "transportation and communication" sector at 8.8%.

At current prices, the sectoral distribution of GDP was as follows: trade-tourism accounted for 25.8% (13.9% in hospitality and food services, 11.9% in wholesale and retail), public services 12.9%, transportation-communication 10.4%, professional services 10.2% (6.7% in professional services, 3.5% in higher education), financial institutions 9.1%, import taxes 9%, construction 6%, homeownership 5.7%, industry 5.6%, and agriculture 5.3%.
