Erdoğan Meets with Aliyev
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The two leaders reaffirmed their mutual commitment to advancing bilateral relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Erdoğan and Aliyev came together during the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) World Leaders Climate Summit, held in Baku. The meeting, which took place in the summit venue, was closed to the press.
Also present at the meeting were Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, Presidential Foreign Policy and Security Advisor Akif Çağatay Kılıç, and other officials from both countries. According to a statement from the Turkish Presidency's Directorate of Communications, the two leaders mutually confirmed their will to further enhance Turkey-Azerbaijan relations. Erdoğan also thanked Aliyev for hosting the COP29 summit.
