Tatar recalled that Turkey’s Peace Operation on July 20, 1974, brought peace and security to both Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots in Cyprus. He stated, "If today South Cyprus enjoys prosperity and has such a developed economy, the peaceful environment in Cyprus has also contributed to that."

“US STRATEGIC GOALS BIND THEMSELVES. THEY’RE HERE TODAY, BUT TOMORROW THEY COULD BE GONE.”

In an appearance on the BRT program ManşetArtı, President Tatar pointed out that South Cyprus is divided internally regarding global events and stressed that he does not approve of the island being militarized and targeted.

Tatar emphasized that the TRNC continues its path in harmony with Turkey and without being involved in any dangerous situations. "The United States' strategic goals bind them. They are here today, but tomorrow they could be gone," he said.

Tatar also remarked that any leap within NATO or similar frameworks must be well-calculated, stating, "Everyone should leap according to their size."

“The Next Agreement Must Not Repeat the Mistakes of the Past”

Tatar recalled Turkey’s Peace Operation in 1974 and its contribution to peace and security in Cyprus, for both Turkish and Greek Cypriots. "If South Cyprus has reached prosperity and its economy is so developed, it is partly due to the peace in Cyprus," he added.

Tatar warned that any agreement signed under pressure or imposition in Cyprus would inevitably lead to conflict in the near future. "The next agreement must not repeat the mistakes of today," he emphasized.

President Tatar also underscored the importance of the security and well-being of the TRNC people, saying, "We live in peace, tranquility, and security. We own this wealth, and it is our greatest comfort."
