15 Fires in One Week: Damages Amount to 2.6 Million TL
In the past week, 15 fires and 26 emergency service incidents occurred in the TRNC, resulting in a total damage of 2.6 million TL.
According to a statement from the police, the fires, which took place between November 11 and 17, were caused by various factors including electrical short circuits, heating, oil residue in chimneys catching fire, fuel leaks, deliberate burning, ignition of covering paper on painted vehicles spreading to surrounding materials, overheating of oil in a working fryer, and burning of a power pole due to severed cables.
The emergency service incidents included rescuing people trapped in elevators and traffic accidents, taking precautions against fire hazards, rescuing cats trapped on central reservations and balconies, special operations, and the transportation of deceased individuals for forensic investigations.
