The Ministry of Health has announced the recall of a batch of Chivas Regal whisky after unsafe alcohol was detected in the product. The Ministry stated that the product was unsafe for consumption and urged consumers to return the product.

In an announcement on November 11, 2024, the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry reported that whisky from the Chivas Regal brand, with lot number "LKWT2991," was found to contain "Alcohol Not Permitted for Food Use" and "Low Alcohol Content." Following this finding, efforts to remove the product from the market were initiated.

The TRNC Ministry of Health's Primary Health Services Department (TSHD) confirmed that the affected products were also imported into the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and made available on the market. The relevant companies have been notified, and the recall process is already underway by the importers. The Ministry emphasized that individuals who have purchased the product should not consume it and should return it to the point of sale.

Consumers are urged to check the lot number "LKWT2991" and immediately return any affected Chivas Regal whisky to avoid potential health risks.

"On November 11, 2024, the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's official website https://guvenilirgida.tarimorman.gov.tr/gkd reported that Chivas Regal whisky, lot number LKWT2991, was found to contain 'Alcohol Not Permitted for Food Use' and 'Low Alcohol Content.' As a result, efforts to withdraw the product from distribution in affected countries have begun. The affected product has also been imported into the TRNC and made available on the market. The relevant companies have been notified, and importers have started the recall process. Consumers who have already purchased the product are advised not to consume it and to return it to the sales point.
