Harmancı’s Warning in Nicosia
Nicosia Mayor Mehmet Harmancı announced via social media that municipal teams are on standby for emergencies. He assured citizens that they can access the 24/7 Alo 185 Solution Line for assistance.

Severe Damage in Kyrenia
In Kyrenia, the storm caused significant damage, including a roof blown onto the Alsancak-Kyrenia Bypass, blocking the road. Mayor Murat Şenkul criticized the lack of adequate preventative measures and urged residents to stay indoors. “We face a serious storm—roofs are flying, trees are uprooted, and the electricity grid is overwhelmed,” he stated.

Electricity Outages and Emergency Response
The Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (Kıb-Tek) reported widespread outages, with teams working tirelessly to restore power.

Ports and Traffic Affected
The storm has also disrupted port operations. In Nicosia, a tree fell on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard, causing traffic delays.

Amcaoğlu: Emergency Teams on Alert
Gönyeli-Alayköy Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu confirmed that emergency teams are on high alert as the storm is expected to persist until morning. He advised residents to remain cautious.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation as recovery efforts are underway.
